Parting is a glitch pedal made in collaboration with Emily Hopkins. It combines chance-based delay or reverb, modulations, degradation effects, and randomized clock changes, to give pleasant surprises at each turn of a knob. Happy with many different signal sources, consider it your ready-made ambient texturizer.
For integration into many different rigs, Parting has:
Stereo in and out with analog dry through
Trails or true bypass switching
Presets
Expression control over every knob
MIDI control over everything in the pedal, including MIDI clock in and out for external syncing
Controls
Dissolve to degrade your signal with sample rate reduction, or send it in reverse with increasingly lo-fi clocks
Rate, Depth, and Shape to determine the motion of the LFO
Chance to set the chance a delay will happen
Smear to diffuse the delay into a reverb
Glitch to double or halve modulation and delay clocks, and allow this to happen randomly
Time to set the delay time
Filter to set the cutoff frequency of a post-delay filter
Mix to set the overall mix
Tactile switches to set modulation type (tremolo or vibrato), filter type (low pass or high pass), and mix type (standard or modified)
Aux switch for tap tempo, half/normal clock, or preset switching
Alt controls for LFO subdivisions, delay subdivisions, volume, and stereo modulation spread
Soft-touch On/Off footswitch with relay switching for minimal switch noise
For more information, see the Parting manual available here.
Requires 9V DC center negative 2.1mm jack power supply capable of 350mA (not included).
